Dalmar Eventer horse boots - front

Dalmar eventer front boots are high performance horse boots manufactured using F1 technology. Carbon fibre is used in these Eventer boots by Dalmar providing superior injury prevention for tendons, the suspensory ligament, canon bone and fetlock joint. The Dalmar patented Aircooling system prevents overheating, a common problem with most eventer boots. New 2012 design, see below for more details.

Large Size suitable for :

  • Warmbloods
  • 16.1hh - 17.2hh approx.
  • Boot length 26.5cm

Medium Size suitable for :

  • Thoroughbreds
  • 15hh - 16hh approx.
  • Boot length 25.5cm

Air Cooling

Conventional boots and bandages insulate the horses' tendons and prevent heat escaping. The Dalmar patented cooling system utilises the high speed cold air hitting the front of the horses' leg to pass through the boot and to cool the tendons while the horse gallops.

Fitting Instructions

Before fitting ensure that the horse's legs and the insides of the boots are clean and free from stones or dirt.

While holding the protective panel against the back of the leg, wrap the single piece fastener all the way around the leg in one smooth motion.

The fasteners wraps anti-clockwise around the left side leg and clockwise around the right leg, like traditional bandages. When applied correctly the brand labels should be facing forward.

When applied correctly the boots should not be free to slide up or down or rotate around the leg during use. If the boot appears loose reapply it putting greater tension on the fastener.

When in use the hook and hoop fastener should be smooth, pressed down firmly and there should be little or no space for dirt to enter between the boot and the horse's hoof.

New design has the following improvements

  • new flatter strap design
  • softer material

FAQ Dalmar Boots

My horse boots are rubbing on the inside

Horseware did take on board some comments that we received previously and examined a proportionate amount of the boots that presented issues. In the majority of those cases, the boots were found to be very worn on the inside and when a hard impact was made, the strike plate absorbed the shock and force of the impact, and in some cases, broke in the process. Due to the high level of wear on the inside of the boot, it may have been possible that the edge of the strike plate, whether broken or not, was able to rub the horses leg. We would never recommend continued use of a boot that has suffered wear on the inside. Note: The new design has a light neoprene lining to help prevent excessive wear on the inside of the boot.

The carbon fibre plate has broken on my horse boots

The strike plate is not designed to never break as the force of impact has to be absorbed in some way. However we have made improvements to parts of the boot including the strike plate as part of our ongoing commitment to keeping our products fresh. If your horse suffers a severe impact that shatters the strike plate, it will not affect his leg if the inside of the boot is well maintained.

5 stars My daughter is very happy with the boots received. Just a bit of advice for South African customers. There are huge custom duties and tax related to this product and the amount came to over R1,000 over and above the cost of the boot.

Material Details

Material: Carbon fibre

Carbon fibre reinforced plastic is made from long thin sheets of graphite-like carbon packed to form a fibre and a resin. It has the highest specific tensile strength of all the reinforced materials, and it has a high strength to weight ratio and low coefficient of thermal expansion. The density of carbon fibre is also vastly lower than the density of steel.

Carbon fibre takes the form of several thousand long, thin strands of material which are mostly composed of carbon atoms.

Carbon Fibre Strike Protection

In the event of an accidental strike the force of the impact is distributed over the entire length of the boot and immediately deflected away from the horses Flexor Tendons and Suspensory Ligaments.
